TAV FALCO (himself)
AND THE unapproachable
PANTHER BURNS
TESTIMONY OF THE PANTHER BURNS
2005

PANTHER BURNS are coming to your town in 2005. Borne far back in the century before last, from out of the swamp waters of the Arkansas delta, admidst the smoke of burning mansions, and the howls of the Burning Panther Head, this neo-rumorist group has climbed upstream to higher ground. Led by rogue-male, Tav Falco, the band established itself upon the riverbluffs of Memphis, Tennessee.
Under the spell of the SHEWOLF and the HOWLING WOLF, the PANTHER BURNS have forged their own unique version of PANTHER MUSIC drawn from cotton patch blues & hill country dirges. Then in the '90s Tav Falco resided 1/2 decade in another river town - Vienna by the Donau. Here and in Dresden by the Elbe, he fell under the influence of neo-Expressionism in art & cinéma. 2-short film pieces resulted from this experience and were directed by the Berliner, Rainer Kirberg: "Born Too Late" filmmed at the 19th.century Club Fésék in Budapest and "Love's Last Warning" filmmed at Hotal Orient in Vienna with the american underground film pioneer, Kenneth Anger, and the venerable Viennese actress, Ellen Umlauf.
After a stint in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the new millineum, emersed in tango argentino, Tav Falco returned to the Fatherland with stalwart new members of the Unapproachable
PANTHER BURNS.
Along with his guitars & drums & films, Tav Falco, "The Beale St. Blues Bopper", is bringing to the stages & airwaves of Europe the music of his new album of 12-original new song compositions entitled, "WELLFIRE". A collection of psychotropic, backwoods ballroom, southern gothic ballads, honky tonk laments, and skulking psychedelic fugues guaranteed to raise the hair on the backs of your necks & elsewhere. Within the new album are contained the seeds of a new motion picture treatment of "Gentleman in Black", a filmic testament of Tav Falco himself - who, as VARIETY recently stated in New York, "was the first to treat Fellini to a Mississippi Mud Pak".
Look Out! for the movements of the
PANTHER BURNS in 2003 as they cut a wide swath across the continent from West to East, from East to North, from North to magic South - wherever the 4-winds blow. They move by Night and not by Day, brandishing a formal challenge to the record labels of Europe to release this new album, "WELLFIRE", into the hands of hungry music lovers everywhere who are dying to get their 'ashes hauled' by Tav Falco & the Unapproachable PANTHER BURNS.
Remember Ladies and Gentlemen,
"The PANTHER BURNS are the Last Steam Engine Train left on the track, that don't do nothing but Run and Blow...."
