In 2006 singer and guitarist Jackie Brutsche (aka Jack Torera) teamed up with drummer Chris Rosales to form The Trash Department, a two-piece, low-fi noise band. After a year of writing and recording songs they joined forces with bassplayer Severin Erni and The Jackets were born. Combining their love for sixties garage, mod, '77 punk rock, and even harder rock acts like The MC5, The Who and The Stooges, The Jackets bring a dynamic recipe to the garage rock 'menu'. The Jackets sound is a product of the band's three distinct personalities. Jackie's ghost-like vibrato vocal style, Severin's Mod-Beat bass accents held together by Chris's classic 60's type drumming. The Jackets Rock-and-Roll!-But it is the roll that makes the rock part just that little bit better!
In November of 2008 The Jackets started playing with new bass player Samuel ‘Schmidi’ Schmidiger. Schmidi has been setting stages on fire around Switzerland for the last several years playing guitar and singing with The Budget Boozers and picking the bass for Suehiro Commander.
Last December the Jackets were at Star Track Studios in Schaffhausen recording songs for their debut album "stuck inside" to be released around the 1st of August 2009 on Subversiv Records.
